This is a sketchy little subway in Takoma Park (next to the capital one with the shoot out) right at the intersection of university and 650 (New Hampshire). I am always WAITING for someone to come out from the back because presumably they're not used to having customers. I don't really care about ripping on customer service most days (especially for a chain fast food joint) but I've had one too many negative experiences to want to leave this be. First of all, its really creepy when the guy making your sandwich is crawling in the back occasionally while making your sandwich all while hitting on you. Its like eight am and I need to get to class, completely unprofessional! It took easily 10-15 minutes for that transaction to occur. I would understand if you were fresh slicing the meat and pulling the bread out of the oven right then and there but you used a stale loaf from the night before and you going into the back to fuss with something for five minutes before ringing me up is irrelevant to me unless you were jerking off which I'd say to that please do that on your own time. Another time this woman was too busy chatting up with a friend or something to pay attention to my order and her shirt was incredibly filthy like she never washed it ever since they gave it to her because she only slaps it on when she gets to work. Today I went in they were teaching this woman how to assemble a sandwich- which I guess if its her first time its okay but she seemed to go out of her way to make the veggies as sparse (yet evenly spread) as possible. She literally would just dot 4 slices of olives, 4 slices of pickles, and four slices of banana peppers across the sandwich in a slow and meticulous way- are you serious? I've never seen someone try to spread 25 cents worth of condiments on a sandwich like these were the last remaining olives / banana peppers in the whole world. I get to the register and the girl is absolutely struggling- its an automated computer meant to streamline the process. I get a cookie and coffee as well, shouldn't be too tedious right? She rings up 6.40 on the register and I hand it to her but asks me for 7.45 and I'm like THEN RING UP THE RIGHT ORDER! She slowly counts the money reciting it out loud and its like did they hire the special ed. alumni from the local HS or something? I get my cup of coffee to one of those airpot things, yeah- it was pretty much empty and I wasn't going to harass their poor little selves for an actual full cup of coffee (for the 1.59 they charge, I should have gotten a decent cup of coffee at the Starbucks). I quit trying to struggle with this Subway, I nave never been terribly impressed with them.

Folks avoid this location if possible. The women who work there do not even know what types of meat go in the subs listed on the menu. Myself and the person in front of me walked out after the owner came out of the office and was very rude and told both of us we could leave if we were not happy with the service. I told him that they need to be trained properly and everything would be much better. I walked out and told him that i did not want to sub the women made after i had to look on the menu and train her about which three meats to put on a BMT.

The pros: My husband and I went there during a busy time on Sunday and were served quickly and with friendly customer service. I felt that the workers were polite with my request of the Tuscan Chicken combo meal with a dr pepper and sprite drink while my husband got a spicy Italian combo meal with a fountain drink. The cons: My husband liked his sandwich but felt that there could have been more toppings on his sandwich. However, he was fine with the macadamia nut cookies that came with his meal. In contrast, I was satisfied with the toppings on my sandwich, but felt that my cookies had a harder texture than what I was use to eating. We might come back in the future because of the good customer service, but I would pass on the cookies at this location while my husband would probably ask for more toppings.

All other reviews not withstanding I should have avoided this place. Now I didn't even get to taste any food because they LOCKED the doors 15 MIN EARLY!!! Hey, I've worked retail for years and after a long shift you may not want to help someone who comes in right before close, but in my defense this wasn't 10:29pm it was 10:15pm!!! If you are going to close early then turn off the damn "open" sign... I got nasty looks and then they just turned away after I pointed at the "open" sign and their times. I hope they get shut down.
